Please be aware that the Alternative Quartet does not supply its own sound system or amplification. This, along with appropriate sound engineering expertise will need to be provided by the client or hired from an external sound management company, and the booking and cost of these services is the responsibility of the client. Please see the Requirements and Additional Requirements given below for more information about what we need you to provide in order to ensure the smooth running and auditory quality of your event.

Requirements for booking the Alternative Quartet

If you would like to use our services, we require that you supply the following equipment:

  1. Sound system must be capable of producing the necessary frequencies for live sound and must provide ample coverage for the venue being used
  2. One mixer board, either analog or digital, capable of handling our five (5) channel inputs in addition to the other inputs required for the event
  3. A minimum of two (2) monitors when the stage is small. For larger indoor events and those taking place outdoors, a minimum of three (3) monitors is required. Monitors must be  either single 12” woofer and horn or double 12” woofers, or horn or single 15” woofer and horn monitors
  4. Four (4) direct boxes located in the area of the performance
  5. One mini Jack to double RCA jack cable to connect our laptop computer into the sound system.  (This may also require an additional direct box)
  6. One CD player
  7. One (1) dual 31 band stereo equalizer for the main PA system, and one (1) 31 band equalizer for the on-stage monitors
  8. Reverb effects
  9. Management by an experienced sound engineer who is very familiar with handling live song and mixing multiple live instruments.

Other requirements:

  1. Four (4) armless chairs
  2. Changing room facilities (where necessary)
  3. Light refreshments where necessary
  4. A sound check at least one (1) to two (2) hours prior to the start of the function
  5. Full payment is due on the night of the event
